Do you want to cook the most delicious beans? Let’s share my recipe for cooking beans, which I have been using for many years. I learned how to cook according to the recipes of traditional Russian cuisine. You can use fresh beans or frozen in bags, which are sold in stores. The description of the recipe will be based on frozen beans, as this is a very popular option.
Green beans can be sold in two main types: frozen and fresh. Frozen beans in pods are usually already cooked, so it’s quite simple to cook them – put them in a heated pan and fry for 20-30 minutes. If the bean pods are fresh, then they must first be thrown into boiling water and boiled in salted water for 10-15 minutes (~ a tablespoon of salt per 2 liters of water).
Then transfer to a hot frying pan with a little oil and simmer under the lid for 20 minutes until the pods are completely soft.
Some people like to eat crunchy pods, while others prefer a very soft pod. In the first case, it costs a couple of minutes to cook the pods and simmer or fry for another 10 minutes. If you want to get strongly cooked bean pods, softer and without crunch, then the cooking time can be increased by another 10 minutes from the basic recipe. Only spice salt is usually added to the pods – you need to salt the water in which the pods are boiled, and slightly salt the pods already in the pan.
Another typical and tasty dish with bean pods is beans with egg. To do this, you need to break the eggs into almost ready-made pods – 3-5 minutes before readiness and continue to cook, stirring constantly. As soon as the egg hardens, the dish is ready. Bon appetit!
