Self-Hypnosis for Pain Relief

Hypnosis is a scientifically proven technique. It has nothing to do with magic, religion, or any kind of mysticism. It is purely psychology and physiology.

Below, I present my own set of techniques for pain relief. This method is effective, for example, if you have a toothache. The key is to first relax (meditation), then reduce the pain (melody, immersion, balm), and finally fix this state (door). You can repeat the process several times.

1. Meditation with the Sea

  • Close your eyes and listen to the rhythm of the waves – let it become your music.
  • Imagine that you are part of the sea, its movement, its breath.
  • Feel how your body slowly sways in sync with the water.
  • With each sound, you sink deeper into relaxation.

2. The Melody

  • Imagine that pain is a melody playing in your head.
  • It slows down, becomes quieter, and fades away.

3. Immersion in Water

  • Imagine that you are in a warm pool or the sea.
  • Feel how the water relaxes your tooth and nerve.
  • The pain dissolves like sugar in water and disappears.

4. The Magical Balm

  • Imagine that you have a healing balm in your hands.
  • Mentally apply it to your tooth and feel the numbness and relaxation spreading.
  • The pain melts away like butter in the sun.

5. The Closing Door

  • Imagine that the pain is left far away.
  • You slam a heavy door shut, and it makes a dull “BANG!” sound.
  • After that, the sound fades → silence → comfort.

These techniques are particularly effective for audials, like myself, but they will be beneficial for others as well.
